MPI's Staff
Rob Pfaltzgraff, MPIs executive director, graduated from Tufts University with a degree in American Studies. He worked for the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) from its founding in 1999, designing and creating FIREs first website and eventually rising to the position of vice president of development, management, and marketing. He left FIRE in March 2006 to become executive director of MPI, where he is responsible for day-to-day operations, including development, marketing, public relations, and assisting with the production of MPIs projects. He has executive produced Do As I Say (based on Peter Schweizers New York Times bestseller), The Libel Tourist, and The Cartel.
Erin OConnor is MPIs director of programs and development, as well as its academic co-director. She holds a BA in English from the University of California at Berkeley and a PhD in English language and literature from the University of Michigan. She has years of teaching experience at the university and secondary school level; she also has extensive experience with writing, editing, development, marketing, and consulting within the nonprofit world. Shaping MPIs mission while also spearheading some of MPIs most vital program work, she is active in MPIs production, fundraising, marketing, and acquisition efforts, regularly providing mentoring and editorial guidance for filmmakers as they refine and polish their work. She served as post-production consultant for The Cartel.
Maurice Black, MPIs director of programs and development and its academic co-director, earned his BA in English and economics from the National University of Ireland, Maynooth, and his PhD in English from the University of Pennsylvania. He has editorial experience with major book publishers, teaching experience at the university and high-school level, and development, marketing, and consulting experience within the nonprofit world. Active in MPIs production, fundraising, marketing, and acquisition efforts, he served as post-production consultant for The Cartel.
Stacie Fulcher, MPIs programs and development officer, holds a BA in political science from the University of Georgia. She previously worked for the Club for Growth and Americans for Tax Reform in Washington, D.C., where she managed nonprofit programs, fundraising, marketing, and outreach efforts. A vital contributor to MPIs program work, she spearheads the Internship Program while advancing fundraising efforts, film promotions, and marketing campaigns.
Sarah E. Parker, MPI's program assistant, is a graduate of Duke University, where she directed several free speech groups on campus, including Duke Students for Academic Freedom. She founded the Duke Free Market Studies Initiative in 2007. In addition to her work with MPI, she works as an executive assistant at the New York-based Human Rights Foundation.
