The motion picture adaptation of Ayn Rand's famed novel Atlas Shrugged is underway, as filming for the project began this June. This long awaited movie is being produced by John Aglialoro and Harmon Kaslow and will feature actors Paul Johansson, Taylor Schilling, and Grant Bowler, among others.
Rand's 1957 novel is set in a dystopian U.S. where government has nabbed increasing control over industry. Society's most productive members begin to vanish, and everything is collapsing as a result. It is a keen portrayal of what can happen when the role of the state becomes too powerful.
